(Belated) #TheReadingQuest Update Week 4

Helloooo everyone!

So, I must say, I miserabley failed finishing my questline. I haven’t finished any books on the last week of #TheReadingQuest, so Ryell haven’t grown up as the biggest witch of all times.

So without further ado, do a tiny summary about what I’ve accomplished during this challenge, count experience points, count health points – let’s see how many quests was I able to finish.

Main Questline:

  • Book set in a different world: Reaper Man
  • A Book based on mythology: The Lightning Thief (Hungarian edition)
  • Contains Magic: The Night Circus
  • 1st book in a series: Divergent

Side Quests:

  • Time Warp – Stalking Jack the Ripper (audiobook)
  • Multiplayer – The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

Started Quests

  • Grind : Insurgent
  • Mini-Game : Sleepy Hallow and other short stories by Washington Irving
  • Book with a one word title: Winter

Ryell (Level 2)

Exp 70
HP 228

What I’ve learned from this challenge? Don’t select a book as a main quest with more than 800 pages because you are not going to finish it in time!

Overall I loved participating in this challenge, it was really fun and I’d like to thank Aentee that she hosted this amazing game!

Regards,
Szandi

#TheReadingQuest Week 3 Update

Hellooo everyone!

The third week of #TheReadingQuest is ended, we are nearly at the end of the challenge! If you don’t know what the Reading Quest is, you can find my original post about it here.

I’m not really happy with this week’s performance to be honest. I finished only 3 books: one for my main questline and two for side quests. One of them is a buddy read with Fran, who is a friend of mine from Bookstagram 😊

Summary

Finished books:

Main Questline:

  • Book set in a different world: Reaper Man + 10 EXP, Pge Count: 418 -> 41 HP

Side Quests:

  • Time Warp – Stalking Jack the Ripper (audiobook) + 10 EXP, 9h 26 min -> 28 HP
  • Multiplayer – The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan + 10 EXP, Page Count: 254 -> 25 Hp

Currently Reading:

Main Questline:

  • Book with a one word title: Winter

Side Quests:

  • Grind – Insurgent
  • Mini-Game – Sleepy Hallow and other short stories by Washington Irving

Ryell (Level 2)

Exp 70
HP 228

It is a good thing that only Winter is left from my main questline. I focus on that one and I try to finish as many side quests as possible in the last week.

Cheers,
Szandi

#TheReadingQuest Week 2 Update

Hellooo everyone!

The second week of #TheReadingQuest is ended, we are halfway through the challenge! If you don’t know what the Reading Quest is, you can find my original post about it here.

On this week I performed slightly better than on the 1st. I finished two books from my character’ path, started another one, made a good progress with Winter and also made a good progress with a side quest. What a success!

Also, I changed one of my main questline books, A Gathering of Shadows to the Night Circus. I don’t really felt like reading a Gathering of Shadows, really 😦

Summary

Finished books:

Main Questline:

  • A Book based on mythology, The Lightning Thief (Hungarian edition)+ 10 EXP, Page count: 353 -> +35 HP
  • Contains Magic, The Night Circus +10 EXP, 13:40:19 = 820 min -> +41 HP

Side Quests:

  • none

Currently Reading:

Main Questline:

  • Book with a one word title: Winter
  • Book set in a different world: Reaper Man

Side Quests:

  • Grind – Insurgent
  • Time Warp – Stalking Jack the Ripper (audiobook)

Ryell (Level 1)

Exp 40

This way I’m already finished or in progress with all of my main quests. So from now on I’m going to focus on sidequests and finishing the two books mention above 🙂

Cheers,
Szandi

#TheReadingQuest Week 1 Update

Hellooo everyone!

Here I am, with the first week catch-up of #TheReadingQuest. If you don’t know what the Reading Quest is, you can find my original post about it here.

I think my first week in this challenge went really well. I finished Cress on the day before the challenge started, so I was able to start Winter.

I also started on the first day the Divergent series. I read 300 pages on the first day from the first book, and finished it on Tuesday. I started Insurgent Wednesday, which is a book that I chose for one of the side quests: Read a book which is more than 500 pages long.

I started another book in Thursday in audiobook format: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I chose this book for another side quest, Time Warp – A Book set in either the past or the future. This audiobook is 13 hour and 40 minutes long, and I listened the first 6 hours.

Summary

Finished books:

Main Questline:

  • 1st book in a series, Divergent + 10 EXP, Page count: 487 -> +48 HP

Side Quests: none

Currently Reading:

Main Questline:
– Book with a one word title: Winter

Side Quests:
– Time Warp – The Night Circus
– Grind – Insurgent

Ryell (Level 1):
EXP: 20
HP: 58

#TheReadingQuest Day 1 Update

Hellooo everyone!

Today is the first day of #TheReadingQuest challenge, you can find my original post about it here.

First thing I do is to put aside my other reads – these are ACOWAR and The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I’m going to come back to these time to time when I’m overwhelmed with the books I chose for the challenge, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish them before the challenge started – I had to finish Cress in order to start Winter.

I decided to start the challenge with the two books I’m the most afraid of:

  • Winter
  • Divergent

I selected Winter because of it’s length: it’s 823 pages long, so I think I will read it throughout the whole challenge, I hope I can finish it by the deadline.
Divergent was selected because it is the starting book of a new series which I never read before. It is always a little bit risky – what if I’m not going to like it?

I have a change as well in my TBR for the challenge: I selected Raven Boys to the mythology quest, and I ordered it but it haven’t arrived yet. I’m afraid that it is not going to arrive in time so today I bought the first Percy Jackson book: The Lightning Thief, so I’m going to read that instead of the Raven Boys.

So Ryell started her journey to grow into the Arch Mage of this world.

Current EXP: 10
Current HP: 10

Once finished Divergent (page count 487):
+10 EXP
+48 HP

Once finished Winter (page count 823):
+10 EXP
+82 HP

I’m going to update you during the next week about the quests if I’m finishing any.

Cheers,
Szandi

#TheReadingQuest

So I found this amazing reading challenge made by Aentee and I decided that I have to participate 😀 I’m a huge gamer, I love board games and I’m a role player as well so this is my kind of reading challenge 🙂

The reading challenge takes place between the 13th of August and 10th of September. You can find the full description of the challenge here.

I decided that I’m going to go on the path of the Mage, I don’t think that I’m going to have time for another character path, but I’m going to try and finish some side quests.

For the path of the Mage I chose the following books:

One Word Title – Winter by Marissa Meyer
Contains Magic Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab
Based on Mythology – The Raven boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Set in different world – Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett
1st book in a series – Divergent by Veronica Roth

Ideas for Side Quests:

Multiplayer, buddy read a book – probably we are going to able to buddy read something with Fran 🙂
Grind, a book with more than 500 pages – Insurgent by Veronica Roth

In the beginning my lovely mage named Ryell (ok, now I’m fond to my character…) starts on the 1st level with 10 EXP. I’m going to post her progress in growing to a mighty heroine 🙂

So this kind of mess up my previously set up TBR for August (and for September, to be honest) but I can’t resist, this is too much fun 🙂

Wish luck on the road of my lovely Inside-Mage to be successful!

Cheers,
Szandi
