Linkin Park tag

Hello Everyone!

This tag was created for an honor to Chester Bennington, frontman of Linkin Park, who committed suicide yesterday. I’m heartbroken because of his death, he and his band meant a lot to me, helped me survive my teenage years, when my parents divorced, helped me find my friends.
This tag was created by The Abominable Book Girl , I want to thank her to created this. Let’s get started!
1. Breaking the Habit Name a series that hooked you with the first book but lost you in the following sequals.

The Mara Dyer books. I loved the first book in the series but the second did not hooked me at all, I was bored with it so I haven’t read the third book.

2. Numb Name a book/Series that left you so sad/emotional/upset you ended up in a book slump.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I was sobbing through the ending, though I kinda now in the beginning that something really sad is going to be happen toward the end. I was heartbroken and had a month long reading slump after I finished the book.

3. In the End What book would you re-writing the ending to?

I don’t have an answer for this question. I’m that kind of person who always accepts what the author decided to happen in the book, I never question it.

4. The Catalyst Which book first got you interested in reading?

I love reading since I learned how to read, though I think the Harry Potter series was the one which hooke dme up so much that I ended up being a booknerd.

5. Faint What book/series had a plot twist that you did not see coming?

The ending of A Court of Mist and Fury. No explanation. 😀

6. Waiting for the End What series are you dying for the author to finish already?

This is going to be the Song of Ice and Fire by Deorge R. R. Martin. I really want to know what is going to happen in Westeros and I really want to reread the books but I don’t want to start rereading it until he doesn’t finish it.

7. Somewhere I Belong Which fictional land would you like to live in?

I want to be a witch in the Wizarding World. Like, I’m waiting for my Hogwarts letter for 16 years now, WHERE IS MY LETTER???

8.Given Up What was the last book you DNFed?

I rarely DNF a book. The last I DNF’t was Vassa in the Night. I was really disappointed by that book, I had so high expectations. I will give it another try sometimes though.

And that’s it, this was the Linkin Park book tag.
As a side note I want to say, that you are precious and I know that it can look like that you don’t have any other options just to end your life. Please, reach out to someone. There are people, who loves you. There are people, who care about you. Please, don’t let the hard days win.

In memory of Chester Bennington. You’re always going to live for us in your music.

Top 5 favourite read in the first half of 2017

2017 is my best reading year in comparison of the last 2-3 years (since I work basically, I hate adulting…). I finished 26 books this year so far, which was my original Goodreads Reading challenge goal for this year, so this is a big number 🙂 I read a tons of really good books this year so far, so this list is the top 5 of them in no particular order.

  1. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
    Rating: 5/5
Genre: YA fantasy (Alice in Wonderland retelling)
    Favourited: Yes

I finished Heartless in January and it was an instalove from my side. I’m deeply in love with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland so I was a little sceptical in the beginning of Heartless – I was unsure that Marissa Meyer can catch that whimsical athmosphere of Wonderland, but oh God, I was so wrong! It was magical and beautifully written, I loved the characters and it broke my heart.

  2. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
    Rating: 4.5/5
    Genre: YA fantasy
    Favourited: No

I got Strange the Dreamer in the March FairyLoot box and instantly fell in love with the cover because that book is pretty!!! I started reading it and the first half was really slow, I wasn’t hooked by it, but when it happened, I basically wasn’t able to put it down, I devoured it! The writing style is magical, the story is very unique and the characters are loveable (I’m in love with Lazlo Strange). I’m very excited for the next book!

  3. Hunted by Meagan Spooner
    Rating: 4.5/5
Genre: YA fantasy (Beauty and the Beast retelling)
    Favourited: Yes

I was really in the mood of retellings this Spring, I think it was because of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. Once I saw that there is a new Beauty and the Beast retelling out there, I knew that I need to put my hands on it! I finished the book in two days, it was so beautifully written, and it was one of the closest retelling to the original story. I loved that it felt like my mom reading me a fairy tale while I went sleeping at night, it was a familiar and cozy feeling.

  4. Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
    Rating: 5/5
    Genre: YA contemporary
    Favourited: Yes

I’m not a huge contemporary reader, I’m more of a fantasy reader, but this year I decided that I’m going to open up to contemporaries, and so good that I did! I got Eliza and her Monsters in the May Owlcrate box. It was a really quick and easy read, it was beautiful and heartbreaking… really, I can’t say anything bad about this book, you should read it!

  5. Caraval by Stephanie Garber
    Rating: 4.5/5
    Genre: YA fantasy
    Favourited: No

I wasn’t expecting much from this book in the beginning, I’m not really into circuses and haven’t read Night Circus, BUT this book was AMAZING! It was a really fast read, the world of Caraval is magical (I would definitely attend Caraval). I loved that the main focus is on two sisters and sisterhood. The story was fast paced and I wasn’t sure at the end who to trust and who don’t. I forgot, that this is only a game 🙂

So this were my favourite reads of this year so far. Please do let me know down the comment what was your favourite reads!

Cheers, Szandi
