IRL Book Tag

Hellooooo everyone!

I was tagged to do the IRL Book Tag by Dorka, you can find her post here 🙂 This tag was originally created by a Youtuber – TheRainyReader. You can watch the original video here.

1. Most likely to stand up for the little guy

Cooper from One of us is lying. He is the kind of boy, who’s heart is on the right place and always wants to do the best.

2. Most romantically oblivious

Dorka mentioned here Ronald Weasley and I have to agree with her on this.

3. Most likely I’d turn to for advice

Remus Lupin from Harry Potter. He is supportive and very analytical, I feel that he’s advices would be really good.

4. Most likely to make youtube videos

Iko from the Lunar Chronicles! She would have a beauty youtube channel 😀

5. Most likely to grab a beer with

Kell from Shades of Magic series. I would love to hear he’s stories about the other Londons while we are sitting in a pub and drinking some beer.

6. Most likely to apply for a reality show

Captain Carswell Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles. He’s funny and charming and narcissistic enough to participate in a reality show.

7. Character I’d want to run into on a beach

Rhysand. I don’t have to explain it, why.

8. Character I’d like to work for

I’d love to work in the Gomorrah Festival, under Nicoleta after she became the new proprietor. I would love to be part of the Burning City!

9. Most likely to have a mental breakdown in public

Cress from the Lunar Chronicles. I mean, the poor girl lived in a satellite alone for years. She would not have a breakdown because she is weak but because there are situations which she can’t handle properly. SHe is my favourite though!

10. HR’s worst nightmare

Alosa from the Daughter of the Pirate King. She is so stubborn that she would cause some headache for the HR 😀

I hope you enjoyed this fun little tag, if you’d like to do it, please feel free to do so!

Cheers,
Szandi

Liebster Award

Helloooo everyone!

I was nominated by Berries and Books to do the Liebster Award. Thank you! 🙂

1. Tell us a memory of a book you purchased.

I remember to the first Harry Potter book that I bought. I was 10 or 11 years old and in our school there was in every couple month a huge book market, and I first spotted Harry Potter there. I wanted it badly but I didn’t had money and my mom told me that we are going to buy it sometimes later. I was devastated. I spent that weekend at my gradma and we went to shopping into a big supermarket which had some books as well. There I saw Harry Potter again. I begged to my grandma to buy it to me and I don’t want any chocolate or anything else, I just want the book, so she bought it to me. A month later I had my birthday, and I got the other 3 books as well.

2. What’s the last movie you watched, did you like it?

I don’t really watch movies or series. The last series I saw was GLOW and it was really good!

3. What kind of dog would you like to own?

I’m more of a cat person than a dog person, I have two cats. If I would have a dog though than it would be a Border Collie or a Corgi because they are so cure 😀

4. Do you do any artistic hobby (drawing, painting, photography, etc.)?

I like to take pictures to Bookstagram and I love calligraphy, though I’m not really good in it.

5. Places you would like to visit once in your life?

There are a lot of them! I want to visit Japan, Australia, Norway, Canada. I want to travel once with the Trans-siberian Express to the Baical Lake. I want to visit the Easter Island as well. There are too much places to visit 😀

6. Favourite animated character?

Belle. I love her since my childhood, I was always thinking that I’m just like her with all the brown hair and loving of books.

7. Dragons or other magical creatures?

Dragons are my favourite magical creatures. They are beautiful and majestic, I love them. I also love fairies and elves.

8. Which social media is your favourite (twitter, instagram, facebook, etc.)?

Bot Instagram and Facebook, I don’t use Twitter.

9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? (asking the deep questions)

Though question, I can’t really answer it 😀 I think I’m going to do the same as I do now but maybe I’m going to work for a different company. Maybe in London? Not sure 😀

10. Favourite book from a genre you don’t usually go for?

I’m not really into sci-fi, I like high fantasy better, but I read Illuminae which is a fantastic book.

11. Do you buy box sets for books?

I do! I bought a Harry Potter box set and a Divergent box set as well. I bought the Harry Potter one because of Harry Potter, we don’t have to have a reason for that. I bought the Divergent one because it was cheaper than it would be if I would have bought the 3 hard copies.

I don’t nominate anyone in particular but if you want to do the challenge, please do 🙂 Use the same questions as I got from berriesandbooks.

Cheers,
Szandi

Keep it Fresh Award

Hello everyone! There is incredibly hot in Hungary at the moment when I write this post, and I’m craving fruits in this weather, so I thought that it would be fun to do a fruit themed book tag. I googled it and found this amazing tag at  The Lazy Reading Panda’s blog. So without further ado, let’s jump right into the tag!

RULES:
  • Post the rules before starting and link back to this post as a reference for other bloggers.
  • Part A: Answer each of the fruit questions (each fruit corresponds to a book!) & add pictures plus why you thought that particular book deserves that particular fruit if possible.
  • Part B: Choose your favourite fruit (even if it is one of the fruits in part A). Come up with a question that we didn’t ask and answer it.
  • Part C: Create your own smoothie from the fruits in Part A (imagine a Lemon-Tomato-Apple smoothie ~ yuck), and find a book that would correlate to your smoothie!
  • Nominate as many and anyone that you think are deserving of this award but it would be nice if you nominated a minimum of 5!
  • Notify your nominees of the nomination (nom nom nom ~ :D)
  • The most important rules? HAVE FUN and of course, KEEP IT FRESH!:)

Part A – Fruit Questions

  1. Strawberries: Name the sweetest book you’ve read. (e.g. sweet in terms of the characters or if the story takes place in a sweet world… etc.)The first book that pops into my mind is The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli. I’m usually not a contemporary reader but this year I decided to upen up toward this genre and how goos that I did so! The Upside of Unrequited is a fluffy, cutesy read which I really enjoyed.upside

  2. Coconut: What is a book that you would bring on vacation with you to a tropical destination? (Or if you’re just relaxing at the beach…)
This question is really on the spot for me at the moment, as I’m currently trying to plan what books to bring with me on my family vacation in September. I think that what I would bring is an easy read, not a high fantasy with much world building. I think I would chose the Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger, based on the length of the vacation the whole series or just the first couple of books, because it is an easy and really funny read. I can imagine myself lying on the beach and laughing hard while reading these books.parasol
  3. Pineapple: What is a book that you didn’t think you would like by judging its cover/summary/the first few pages but started to grow on you?Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It was a big surprise for me, I’m not really into circuses and actually the premise was not interesting for me, I thought that this will be a book that was just meh, but I loved it and I’m so happy that I gave it a chance!caraval
  4. Orange: What’s the juiciest book you’ve read? (e.g. A book with tons of action, romance… etc.)From the word juicy the first book that popped into my mind is A Court of Mist and Fury by Sara J. Maas. It’s full of action, romance and Rhysand and Feyre and Rhysand scenes and if those aren’t the definition of juicy than I don’t know what it is 😀acomaf
  5. Watermelon: A watery book (e.g. There wasn’t tons of substance to the book/the details were just too watery…etc. Don’t get us wrong though, we love watermelons!)
This is a tough one… I would say Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza. It was an okay book but nothing special. The characters were one dimensional, they didn’t have enough complexity in them, the story was kind of predictable… I don’t know, I was a tiny bit disappointeds by that one because I thought that it is going to be a badass book and I didn’t got what I was waitng for.eoats
  6. Dragonfruit: What’s the most unique book you’ve read? (e.g. Unique in writing style, characters, plot… etc.)This is going to be my current read, Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody. I’m more than halfway though this book and it’s sooo unique, the athmosphere is amazing, I love the characters and the world is very unique. I love it so far and I hope that the ending will not disappoint me.dotbc
  7. Lemons: Name a book that made you feel sour. (e.g. The emotions were just sour, you just felt sour reading the book, or the book includes sour characters… etc.)I usually not DNF any books, but I had to DNF Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter. I had really high expectations towards this book, zhe premise sounded amazing and the russian folklor interest me very much… but I not enjoyed the book at all, I had this soury taste in my mouth the whole time because I felt betrayed by the book.vitn
  8. Tomato: What is a wonderful book that you think should be more widely known? Or a fantastic author whom you think deserves more recognition? (Since some may not know that tomatoes are actually fruits!)I loved the Engelsfors trilogy by Mats Strandberg and I don’t feel that it got enough love. The whole series was very well written, the characters are amazing, the story is really good – it’s a bit slow but I really enjoyed that it is slow and I loved this darky, foggy athmosphere it has. It deserves more love!engelsfors
  9. Apple: Name a really stereotypical book of a certain genre just like apples which are typical fruits. In the end was that book good or not? (e.g. A very typical contemporary/fantasy book… etc.)The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard is a typical YA fantasy book. The elements of the story, the character, everything felt like hat okay, I’ve already read this somewhere else. This is not a bad thing though, I really enjoyed this book.redqueen
  10. Blueberries: Name a book that made you feel blue. (Any sad, depressing books that you’ve read?)Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I knew from the beginning that this book is going to torn my heart into tiny little pieces and I was right. I was sobbing on the train when I finished it.heartless
  11. Grapefruit: Any bitter books? (e.g. a book that was blue but MORE… do you have any bitter resentments towards characters from a book? Any sour turned bitter emotions? Any uber hateful villains?)My most hateful villain is Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter. I never thought that I can hate a fictional character as much as I hate her. She is kind of worse than Voldemort in my opinion. Voldemort is a bad guy and he knows that he is a bad guy and does bad things, but Umbridge is different. She is a sociopath with this cutesy, fluffy, pink attire and I just want to punch her in the face I can’t even desribe my hate toward her.hp5
  12. Jackfruit: Name the most physically heavy book that you’ve ever read. (Because jackfruits are pretty heavy fruits!)Either Lord of the Rings or Strange the Dreamer. All book in my LoTR trilogy is really heavy and Strange the Dreamer also a really big and heavy book.std
  13. Limes: Name a funny book that you’ve read because limes add flavour and so does humour with every book.I’m going to chose for this a hungarian series, Borbiro Borbala by Agnes Gaura. The whole series is really funny, the characters are full of sass and their dialogs are always incedibly fun. I love this series 😀bb

Part B – favourite fruit

Choose your favourite fruit and then choose a book that would correspond the best and if your fruit is already taken on our list, make up your own question and answer it.

My favourite fruit is Raspberry, it is sweet but you can get it only for a short amount of time. I would select for this a book or a series which I never wanted to end.

This is definitely the Harry Potter series which is my all time favourite series and is ended too early, I never wanted to leave Hogwarts and the Wizarding World.

hp

Part C – Fruit Smoorthies

Finally, choose a book that was a mix of some of these fruits to make your own smoothie. (e.g. A strawberry blueberry lemon smoothie would correlate to a sweet and sad but sour book.)

I chose a Strawberry – Lime- Blueberry – Raspberry smoothie. In my representation this is a series which I love, is sweet and funny but made me cry out loud. This series is the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. I absolutely adored this series, it made me laugh and also sob in public and has the sweetest book boyfriend of the world. Just. Love. This. Series.
